FINANCING FOR DEVELOPMENT FORUM AT UN NEW YORK

FOSTERING FINANCIAL SYSTEM INTEGRITY, INNOVATION, AND STABILITY ACROSS CREDIT RATINGS AND CROSS-BORDER PAYMENTS.

Based on the Sevilla Commitment’s actions to improve credit ratings, enhance financial regulation, and reap the potential benefits of digital currencies and interoperable settlement systems, this session will examine how improving financial information and infrastructure can strengthen financial system integrity, innovation, and stability. The discussion will build on the outcomes of the ECOSOC Special Meeting on Credit Ratings to address ways to support accurate, objective, and long-term oriented credit ratings. It will also explore how innovations in cross-border payments and digital currencies can be harnessed to support sustainable development, while managing macroeconomic and financial stability risks.
